The White Hot Safety Duck from Munchkin is one of the most genius things that I’ve come across in a while. “A Bath ducky with a safety indicator on the bottom – so only the Ducky needs to tell you when its bottom is too hot.” What a great idea! Even as a fifteen year old I can see how handy this would be for cautious parents or times when you’re “just not sure” if the bath water’s too hot. I put Ducky up to the test myself under the hot tap in the office to see if this actually worked. And it did! The cute packaging epitomises the Munchkin brand, playful, fun and aesthetically pleasing products, designed to keep little ones happy and make parents lives easier.
Once Ducky was free from the packaging I tried him out under the hot tap. The white “HOT” safety indicator on the bottom remains blue when the water at a temperature okay for babies to bathe in. one the water reaches 39.4°-40°C the word “HOT” turns white on the safety indicator. The instructions tell you to leave the duck in the water for one minute before looking but when I held the duck under the hot tap I saw the safety indicator change immediately. Parents can rest assure that their little ones are safe thanks to this fantastic little guy.
I let Ducky have a little swim and then returned him to dry land, once he had cooled down the safety indicator returned to blue again. The duck can be reused until you notice any wear or damage, so there will be plenty of bath time fun with this little fellow.
Of course Ducky isn’t just used for safety purposes, a modern and inventive take on this classic bath time toy, children of all ages will have fun playing and splashing with Ducky and parents will be grateful for the little friend with a “hot” bottom.
