The Royal Baby!
With 2012 coming to a close some may have thought that the public’s interest in the royal family would start to dwindle. William and Kate certainly kept us waiting long enough to make their announcement, and as it came the nation rejoiced our enthusiasm for the royals rocketed again (although I’m not sure it ever went away?)
Royal baby fever has swept the nation and daily stories come flooding in as it seems everyone is on the lookout for that elusive bump. The world just can’t seem to get enough of them; everyone wants a slice of Kate and wills and now the baby too. Kate has reportedly been seen “shopping for stretchy clothes” in Gap as the Duchess of Cambridge is now in her second trimester of pregnancy. The December announcement has sparked a “bump” in pregnancy tests, as Clearblue say they have seen a 60% increase in sales since the news came out. People idolise over Kate Middleton, she is a princess after all? From the engagement ring, to the dress, and now the ultimate accessory, a baby third in line to the throne, if Kate’s got it, we want it.
The speculation surrounding the royal tot is huge, with many at first suggesting that the recently wed couple were expecting twins. There was also speculation that Kate struggled to become pregnant because she is so slim, however, she did conceive and did well to hide it with a decoy “new fringe” and “handily-placed clutch” at her last public appearance before the announcement drawing attention away from Kate’s body and onto her hair, smart move. Then of course, she suffered from acute morning sickness, which lead to hospitalisation, the drama in Clarence House really doesn’t stop! The magazines are already making suggestions as to what Kate’s maternity style of clothing will be, but I’m sure that she will dress her bump just as well as she dresses herself!
The royal pregnancy has been the topic of huge discussion and media coverage already with the Duchess’ fair share of ups and downs. With six months to go before the arrival we are braced for more baby action and excitement as we await the birth and the world continues to congratulate Kate and William.
